Nigeria is endowed with multiple natural resources, most of which are yet to be tapped or even used for the enrichment and development of Nigeria.


Although rich and famous as Nigeria and Nigerians are, it has acquired a notorious reputation for involvement in drug trafficking, fraud, cyber crime and other serious crimes which has given the country a bad image on the outside world. But as bad as it may seems, these are some interesting

1.DIVERSITY OF LANGUAGES: According to official data, Nigeria has more than 520 Nigerian languages spoken, English is the official language. Despite being a multilingual country Nigeria has maintain peace among it tribes and socio ethnic groups.It is also home to 7% of languages spoken on earth.


2.ONE OF THE OLDEST SPOT ON EARTH FOR HUMAN SETTLEMENT: Archaeological discoveries has been an evidence to prove Nigeria  as one of the oldest location of human existence in the with history dated far back as 9000 BC. History has it that Ile-Ife presently in Osun state has been had been adorned with decorations dated far back as 1000 AD, pointing out the possibility of a link between the Yoruba's and the Americans far before America was discovered. Another was the Great Wall Of Benin, which was built between 800 and 1400 AD, is the second largest man made structure on earth making it obvious Nigeria exist far back before the colonial era.

3.MOST POPULOUS COUNTRY IN AFRICA: Nigeria is the most populous black nation in Africa and rank number 7 in the world with a population of 185 million people.


4.THE LONGEST BRIDGE IN AFRICA: The third mainland bridge in Lagos, connecting the mainland and the Lagos island was built by Julius Berger Nigeria PLC, and commissioned by President Ibrahim Babangida in 1990. It measures about 11.8 km, starts from Oworonshoki and ends at Adeniyi Adele.

5.HOME OF BILLIONAIRES: Nigeria is home to billionaires as it produce the richest black man and woman in the world Aliko Dangote and Folorunsho Alakija respectively.

6.HIGH RATE OF TWINS BIRTH: Nigeria has the highest number of twin in the world, mainly common among the Yoruba's.Scientists have proven that 5% of the total child birth on a daily basis are twins.


7.HIGHEST MOBILE PHONE USERS IN AFRICA: Ahead of  other African countries Nigerians mobile phones users are definitely the largest as there are over 120 million phone subscriber in Nigeria, even though some have multiple subscriptions to beat terrible services sometimes.

8.THE NIGER DELTA: The Niger delta is the second largest in the world, its home to sixty percent of Nigeria's mangrove forests which is the largest in Africa, and the 3rd in the world. It also has the highest monotypic fish families in the world.


9.HAPPY PEOPLE: According to world happiness report, Nigeria is the third happiest country in the world and 85th globally. Despite different issues that plague the country, Nigerians have manage to stay happy.
